Everything You Need to Know About the 2027 INFINITI QX65

INFINITI built its reputation on fastback SUVs. The FX — angular, low-slung, and unmistakably driver-focused — is still one of the most recognizable shapes the brand ever produced. The 2027 QX65 picks up where the FX left off: a five-passenger SUV with a sloping roofline, a coupe-like silhouette, and a cabin that doesn't apologize for being sporty. Three trims — LUXE, SPORT, and AUTOGRAPH — cover the range from well-equipped entry to full luxury specification.

What doesn't change across the lineup: Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, the VC-Turbo engine, Google built-in connectivity, and a full suite of driver assistance features come standard on every QX65. Here's the full picture.

The Engine and Drivetrain

The QX65 runs INFINITI's Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine producing 268 hp, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a sport-tuned shift schedule. Standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive handles traction distribution across all conditions. When properly equipped, the QX65 tows up to 2,722 kg (6,000 lbs).

Six drive modes — Standard, Sport, Eco, Tow, Snow, and Off-Road — adjust throttle response, transmission behaviour, and AWD calibration for the situation. Active Noise Cancellation reduces cabin intrusion at highway speeds, while Active Sound Enhancement brings a more pronounced exhaust note in Sport mode.

Interior Space

The QX65 seats five across two rows. The second row is a 60/40-split bench that folds, reclines, and slides — useful for adjusting the balance between rear legroom and cargo space depending on who's in the car. Cargo capacity is 1,014 litres with the second row upright and 1,917 litres with it folded flat.

Loading and unloading gets a practical feature: the Magic Button Touch Release. A single press from the cargo area power-folds the second row without reaching into the cabin. Another press returns it to position.

Technology

The dashboard pairs two 12.3-inch displays — the Dynamic Metre Display for driver information and the InTouch Interactive Display for infotainment. Google Built-in is standard, giving access to Google Maps navigation, Google Assistant voice control, and direct app integration. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with a Qi2 Wireless Charging Pad with cooling fan and four USB Type-C ports.

Driver Assistance

The QX65's driver assistance package is standard across all three trims and covers a wide range of scenarios:

  • Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Predictive Forward Collision Warning
  • Rear Automatic Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Blind Spot Warning and Intervention
  • Lane Departure Warning (with haptic steering wheel), Prevention, and Keep Assist
  • Intersection Assist and Emergency Lane Keeping Assist Road Edge
  • Driver Attention Alert
  • ProPILOT Assist with Intelligent Cruise Control (full speed range, stop-and-hold capability)

How the Trims Differ

All three trims share the same powertrain, AWD system, driver assistance package, and core technology. Where they separate is in audio, visibility features, and interior specification.

Audio is the clearest distinction. The LUXE comes with an 11-speaker system. The SPORT steps up to a Klipsch 16-speaker premium system. The AUTOGRAPH features the Klipsch Reference Premiere 20-speaker system with Individual Audio technology — each passenger controls their own audio experience independently.

The 3D Around View Monitor — which adds Front Wide View and an Invisible Hood View that digitally removes the hood for tight-space navigation — is available on SPORT and AUTOGRAPH. The AUTOGRAPH takes it further with an optional 360-degree spin capability for a complete overhead perspective.

The Head-Up Display (10.8-inch colour, projecting onto the windscreen) is available on SPORT and AUTOGRAPH. The Smart Rear View Mirror, which switches between a conventional mirror and a camera feed for unobstructed rear visibility, is also part of the upper-trim equipment.

Motion-activated liftgate operation is available on SPORT and AUTOGRAPH. LUXE gets the standard power liftgate.

A Few Details Worth Noting

The panoramic sunroof with power open/close/tilt and power sunshade is standard — the fastback roofline doesn't come at the cost of natural light in the cabin.

Sunfire Red is one of the available exterior colours and uses real gold-coated glass flecks in the paint for a finish that reads differently depending on the light.
